June 2026 series dates
- AS and A Level: 11 August 2026, from 06:00 GMT.
- IGCSE and O Level: 18 August 2026, from 06:00 GMT.
06:00 GMT is 11:30 am in India. Cambridge publishes the dates for each series on its website, so check there for the next series.
The other series
- March series: available in India only, for some subjects. Results are released in May.
- November series: results are released in January.
How to get your results
- From your school or exam centre: Cambridge sends results to schools, which pass them to candidates.
- Online: if your school has given you login details for Cambridge's candidate results service, you can see your results there on results day.
Your statement of results shows a grade for each subject. Certificates come later, through your school.
What the grades mean
- IGCSE: A* to G in most subjects. Core candidates can reach grade C, Extended candidates A*.
- AS Level: a to e. A Level: A* to E.
Using AS results
A student sits Cambridge AS Maths (Papers 1 and 5) in June of Year 12 and plans to finish the A Level the next year. What happens to the AS result?
- The AS result can be carried forward to the full A Level, subject to Cambridge's rules and time limits.
- The student then sits Papers 3 and 4 the following June to complete the A Level.
- A weak AS result can be improved by retaking AS papers, so check the options with your school.
Planning after IGCSE results
IGCSE results arrive on 18 August, but school for Class 11 starts earlier. What should a student do?
- Schools usually admit students to A Level or IB courses on predicted or provisional grades, then confirm them.
- Check the school's subject requirements, such as an A in IGCSE Maths for A Level Maths.
- If a grade is close to a boundary, ask the school about an enquiry about results.
If a result is not what you expected
- Enquiries about results: your school can ask Cambridge to review the marking, for a fee and within deadlines. Grades can go up or down.
- Retakes: you can sit papers again in a later series, including the November or, in India, March series.
- University offers: contact universities quickly if you missed an offer by a small margin.
Grade thresholds
After each series, Cambridge publishes grade threshold tables showing the minimum marks needed for each grade in each paper and overall. They change every series, because each paper is slightly different in difficulty. Use them to judge how close you were to the next grade, and to turn practice paper scores into estimated grades when you revise.
How a review of marking works
- Talk to your school's exams officer first: only schools can request enquiries about results for their candidates.
- Choose the service your school recommends, such as a clerical check or a full review of marking.
- Meet the deadline: Cambridge publishes enquiry deadlines for every series, and they come soon after results day.
- Understand the outcome: marks can rise, stay the same or fall, and the grade follows the new mark.
Private candidates
If you entered through an exam centre as a private candidate, your results come from that centre. Ask the centre before results day how and when they will send them, and how they handle enquiries.
A results timeline for a student in India
- March series (India only): exams in late February and March, results in May, in time for admission to Class 11 courses.
- June series: exams from late April to June, AS and A Level results in mid-August and IGCSE results a week later.
- November series: exams in October and November, results in January, often used for retakes.
If you are choosing between series for a retake, compare the results date with the deadlines of the school or university you are applying to.
More questions
Do universities see my Cambridge results?
Many universities ask you to send your statement of results or certificates yourself. In the UK, Cambridge also passes A Level results to UCAS for applicants who entered with a UCAS ID. Check each university's instructions.
Can I compare my result with other students?
Cambridge publishes worldwide grade distributions for its main qualifications, which show what share of candidates got each grade. Your school may also share its own results.
Are the dates the same every year?
No. Cambridge sets the dates for each series and publishes them in advance, so always check the current dates on its website or with your school.
Common mistakes
- Assuming IGCSE and A Level results come out on the same day in the June series.
- Not asking your school for candidate results service login details in advance.
- Missing the deadline for enquiries about results.
