STEM-Tutor ("we", "us") provides online tutoring for AP, GCSE and A level students through stem-tutor.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you send us. When you contact us on WhatsApp to book a demo or a class, we receive your name, phone number and anything you choose to share, such as the student's grade, subject and exam goals.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.
- Advertising measurement. If you arrive from one of our ads, Google Ads may use cookies to tell us that a visit or enquiry came from that ad. You can control ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange demo classes and deliver tutoring.
- To schedule classes and share updates about your course.
- To understand which of our ads and pages are useful, so we can improve them.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Google user data
We use an internal tool that connects to the Google Ads API to manage STEM-Tutor's own advertising account. When we sign in to it with Google, it requests access only to manage Google Ads campaigns. It reads and changes our own campaigns, keywords, ads and performance reports.
- The tool is used only by STEM-Tutor to run our own ads. It does not access the Google data of students, parents or any other visitor.
- Google Ads data is used only to plan, build and measure our advertising. It is not sold, not used to train AI or machine learning models, and not shared with anyone except as required by law.
- Sign-in credentials are stored securely on our own systems and can be revoked at any time from the Google Account security page.
Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Services we rely on
We use Vercel to host this website, WhatsApp (Meta) to communicate with you, and Google for advertising. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and student information for as long as we are working together and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
Children
Many of our students are under 18. We ask that enquiries for a student under 18 come from, or with the agreement of, a parent or guardian, and we collect only what we need to teach.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or tell us to stop contacting you, by messaging us on WhatsApp.
Visitors in the UK
If you are in the United Kingdom, STEM-Tutor is the controller of your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Why we use your data. To answer your enquiry and provide lessons (steps you ask us to take before and under a contract), and to measure our advertising (your consent, for cookies).
- Cookies. Our UK pages ask before setting advertising cookies. If you reject them, Google receives only anonymous signals without cookies. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of each UK page.
- Transfers. We teach from India, so your enquiry and lesson details are handled outside the UK. We keep them to what we need to teach.
- Your rights. You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent, by messaging us on WhatsApp.
- Complaints. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
