What we cover in Geometry
Geometry is usually grade 9 or 10. Every topic of the course, taught 1-on-1 at your pace and in your class's order.
- Reasoning, logic and two-column proofs
- Parallel lines, angles and transversals
- Congruent triangles
- Similar figures and scale factors
- Right triangles, Pythagoras and trigonometry
- Coordinate geometry: distance, midpoint and slope
- Circles: arcs, chords and equations
- Area, surface area and volume
- Transformations: translations, reflections, rotations and dilations
How we plan your Geometry classes
Adapted after your free demo class: we spend the time where it matters most for you.
- Find the gapsYour free demo class starts with a few questions to see which earlier skills are solid and which need work.
- Fix the foundationsWe fill those gaps first, because most trouble in Geometry comes from a skill from an earlier course.
- Keep ahead of classEach week we work on your homework and the next topic your teacher will cover, so class makes sense the first time.
- Prepare for testsUnit tests, finals and state end-of-course exams where your school has one, with timed practice and an error log.
Try two Geometry questions
Typical class-test questions. Have a go, then open the worked solution.
Geometry · question 1
A right triangle has legs 9 and 12. Find the hypotenuse and the sine of the angle opposite the side of length 9.
Show the worked solution
- Pythagoras: c² = 9² + 12² = 81 + 144 = 225, so c = 15.
- sin = opposite ÷ hypotenuse = 9 ÷ 15.
- Answer: Hypotenuse 15, sine 0.6.
Geometry · question 2
Write the equation of the circle with center (2, −3) and radius 5. Is the point (5, 1) on it?
Show the worked solution
- The circle is (x − h)² + (y − k)² = r², so (x − 2)² + (y + 3)² = 25.
- Substitute (5, 1): (5 − 2)² + (1 + 3)² = 9 + 16 = 25.
- Answer: Yes, (5, 1) is on the circle.
Where Geometry leads
Each course builds on the one before, so a strong Geometry makes the next class easier.
Algebra 1 → Geometry → Algebra 2 → Precalculus → AP Calculus AB or BC
AP Physics 1 also uses algebra and trigonometry from these courses on almost every question.

What families say
“Studying with Ashraf has been a game-changer for my son’s mathematical journey. Over the past year, Ashraf’s guidance has helped him approach problems with clarity, confidence, and creativity. His teaching goes beyond formulas, nurturing logical thinking and strategic problem-solving. This approach directly reflected in my son’s competition performance: after earning a Silver medal in HKIMO last year, he proudly achieved Gold this year. Ashraf’s mentorship is inspiring, motivating, and results-driven.”
“Mr. Ashraf is a highly dedicated educator. Through patient guidance and deep subject knowledge he helped my son strengthen his mathematical foundation and develop genuine confidence. Under his mentorship he excelled in mathematics competitions.”
Questions
How much does it cost?
$30 an hour for a live 1-on-1 class. Your first demo class is free, with nothing to pay and nothing to sign.
Which grade is Geometry for?
Geometry is usually grade 9 or 10 in most US schools. We teach regular, honors and Pre-AP versions, following your school's syllabus.
My child is fine at algebra but struggles with proofs. Can you help?
Yes. Proofs are a new kind of thinking, so we practise choosing the reason for each step out loud, starting with short proofs and building up.
When are classes?
Every day between 6pm and 10pm in your US time zone, Eastern, Central, Mountain or Pacific.
How do classes work?
Each class is a live 1-on-1 video session with your tutor, built around your homework, class notes and upcoming tests. Sessions are recorded so you can rewatch them.
Do you offer classes in my area?
Every class is live 1-on-1 online, so you can learn Geometry with us wherever you live in the US, with no travel.
How do I pay?
By international bank transfer. We send the details on WhatsApp.
Can you guarantee a grade?
No one honestly can. Results vary by student. What we can promise is patient, focused 1-on-1 help on exactly the topics you find hard.
How do I start?
